Happy Travels from Inn at the Presidio!

Hello! We are your online guide to all things San Francisco, The Presidio, local parks & museums, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and more.  Our inn is an adorable historic bachelor's quarters from 1904, restored into a contemporary but classic 22 room Inn.  We open Spring of 2012, and hope to share with you some of the most exciting things from The NPS, the Presidio Trust, it's partners, and the San Francisco Bay at large.  You don't have to stay at our inn to ask questions about the area, or enjoy our posts... just let us know if we can help!.  Thank you, and we hope this finds you well! - Michael from Inn at the Presidio P.S. - you can find us on Twitter, and Facebook too!

Long a haven for counter-culture types, San Francisco has creative bent that helps make it one of the more interesting destinations for design tourists. From the new industrial bar and lounge at 25 Lusk, to the first inn at the 236-year-old Presidio Park, to the under-construction SFJAZZ Center, the City by the Bay has more to offer than ever. That’s not to say that the city’s historic offerings have been neglected—far from it, in fact—as this edition of Design Heat Maps paying a visit to the building with the first glass curtain wall in the United States and the historic Emporium Dome, the ornate vestige of a long-defunct Macy’s competitor. Old and new, all cool, all here. Check it out below.
